Hello!
Below is the playlist for my 2025 Senior Recital for my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition! The performance consisted of 3 digital pieces and 2 live pieces.
I’ll accompany this playlist with a copy/paste of the speech I gave at the actual performance, as I think that’s a fitting intro and conclusion to the program:
Hello, welcome to my Senior composition recital! It’s good to see you all tonight! Tonight we have a very eclectic program. I like to get into a variety of styles, so hopefully there’s something you’ll enjoy.
This program is arranged in an arch form. The middle piece, My video project: Take One a Day, is the odd one out. The first two pieces and the last two pieces share similarities. Good Vibes and Stardreamer are electronic songs influenced by more popular styles, while Memories of the Sea and Piano Sonata in C-Minor are more idiomatic of what you’d expect in a concert setting.
You’re gonna hear a lot of my influences in this program tonight, which include the classical and romantic periods, film and video game music, jazz, arthouse horror, and lo-fi. As I said before, hopefully there’s gonna be something you enjoy on this program! (Go below the video for the closing speech)
Okay, so that’s the program for tonight! Thank you all so much for coming, and thank you to everyone who tuned into the livestream! Thank you to all the performers and crew tonight! I also wanted to give thanks to the composition professors I’ve worked with here: Dr Decker, Dr He, Professor Asia, and Dr. Calianno. I also want to thank the clarinet studio for welcoming me despite me being more of a composer than a clarinetist. Thank you to all the friends and family who’ve supported me thus far, and please enjoy this last piece (This was said before the last piece)
So that was my recital! I hope you enjoyed it! I hope to be able to share more of my music with you all as time goes on!
